About The Position

The Jewish Community Project (JCP) is the Center for Jewish Life in Lower Manhattan—a spiritual, educational, and cultural hub that fosters togetherness, learning, and celebration. With over 300 member families and year-round programming, an exceptional Early Childhood Center, and innovative Hebrew School Project, JCP inspires a vibrant, welcoming downtown community where Jewish life is not only preserved but celebrated with joy, purpose, and pride—today and for generations to come. With a newly refreshed brand, a website redesign ahead, and plans to build a more sophisticated approach to audience engagement, this is an opportunity to help shape the next phase of JCP's communications. We’re looking for a creative, hands-on Communications & Content Manager who loves both telling the story and making the story happen: writing the email, creating the social post, capturing the photo or video, and building the campaign. Working across JCP’s programs and departments, you’ll own JCP’s day-to-day communications while helping move several major initiatives forward.

Requirements

• 3+ years of communications, marketing, content, or related experience, with exceptional writing and editing skills
• Experience creating and managing social, email, and digital content
• Strong visual instincts and comfort creating visual content, including using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, basic photography, and video
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Comfort with CRMs, CMS platforms, and digital analytics

Nice To Haves

• HubSpot experience is a plus
• Experience in a nonprofit, community, education, or Jewish organization is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling content. Write, design, and produce across email, social, web, print, photography, video, and reels, bringing JCP’s stories and community to life across channels.
• Own our digital channels. Manage social media, email marketing, website content and optimization, digital campaigns, and the editorial calendar, using performance insights to understand what’s working and refine our approach.
• Bring our new brand to life. Support the rollout of JCP’s refreshed brand across the organization, translating new guidelines into consistent, engaging communications.
• Help shape our new website. Play a key role in JCP’s upcoming website redesign, focusing on content, structure, storytelling, and user experience, in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
• Build our audience strategy. Help develop and implement an audience segmentation strategy, using clean, well-managed CRM data to support more targeted communications.
• Find the stories happening across JCP. Partner with teams across the organization to surface stories, plan campaigns, and capture key events and community moments.
