About The Position

PCI Productions is searching for a Visual Communications Strategist to support Marshall Space Flight Center’s human exploration projects. The successful candidate will serve as the team lead for a group of graphic designers, videographers, and communications professionals, managing timelines tied to content delivery, reviews, and production. The ideal candidate should have experience working independently within a complex organization. The individual will work with the government customer to translate desired messaging into compelling visual and narrative products aimed at audiences from government, industry, community, and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, broadcast journalism, visual communications, or related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience taking complex data and making it digestible for the public, multimedia projects, following approval protocols in a matrixed organization with various stakeholders is critical.
  • This position requires extreme responsiveness, methodical attention to detail, creativity, strategic thinking and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • This position is in person, five days per week.
  • Must be comfortable with tight and dynamic deadlines, some travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the development of visual communications products and efforts for a dynamic mission-focused organization
  • Manage multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent time frames and changing priorities/conditions.
  • Identify and develop strategies, tactics, products, and messaging for small and large activities.
  • Work collaboratively across the entire organization to ensure consistent messaging and communication strategy.
  • Plan and conduct media and public events.
  • The Communication Strategist is also responsible for the planning and executing of communications products as needed, as well as briefing internal project, center, or agency stakeholders as required.
  • The successful candidate will work communication plans, internal communication and external communication, producing visual communications products suitable for various platforms with consistent adherence to Agency and program messaging.
  • Relationships within the agency and with the agency’s external partners is also essential.
