About The Position

PCI Productions is seeking an Executive Communications Strategist III to serve as the principal communication advisor to the Associate Administrator (AA) for the Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) at NASA Headquarters in Washington DC. This role provides strategy, planning, writing support, and communications counsel to the AA and other senior leaders. The strategist will operate in a matrixed environment, partnering across NASA organizations and external stakeholders to amplify the AA’s voice and advance OSTEM priorities. This position is onsite and reports to the Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, writing, English, communications, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a strong portfolio of executive writing and campaign execution.
  • Experience operating in matrixed organizations with complex stakeholder and approval processes.
  • Expertise executing public affairs/communications efforts and partnering collaboratively across varied groups.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including writing in the voice of executives.
  • Experience with speaking engagements, conferences, event planning, and presentation development.
  • Strong strategic judgment and tactical execution; ability to measure effectiveness and iterate based on metrics and feedback.
  • High organization and time management; able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proactive self-starter and creative problem solver.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Comfort with accepting feedback, iterating quickly, and adapting to deliver desired communication products.
  • Writing samples required upon application.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in federal or agency communications and familiarity with NASA programs, specifically OSTEM.
  • Experience developing content measurement frameworks and dashboards.
  • Experience developing executive-level content and coordinating cross-platform storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and positioning of executive communications strategy and materials that refine and amplify the AA’s voice and narrative, including speeches, scripts, talking points, letters, presentation materials, and executive-ready briefing packages.
  • Collaborate with internal/external partners and liaise with broader communications teams and subject-matter experts.
  • Mentor the broader communications team on the AA’s priorities and assist in executive communications for other senior leaders.
  • Serve as primary social media writer for the AA: editorial planning, content creation, engagement, monitoring, analysis, reporting.
  • Independently problem-solve and generate ideas for internal and external communications, gathering research and translating leadership activities into tailored materials written in the executive’s voice.
  • Ensure solid message communication and alignment with broader communications teams and maintain ongoing communication with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Design and implement organizational tools to streamline communication workflows (checklists, templates, editorial calendars).
  • Develop and refresh executive-facing presentation materials, working with broader communication team as needed.
  • Support high-visibility events and mission milestones through messaging, briefings, and coordinated real-time digital coverage.
