About The Position

The Communication Specialist is the ‘voice’ of CCS, putting into words the great work that we do in a way that resonates with Canadians. Your role will be to use your financial industry knowledge to create compelling written collateral in the form of blog articles, media pitches, press releases, brochures, presentations, video scripts, and social media posts to increase awareness, consumer interaction, and knowledge, consistent with our overall marketing and awareness strategy. Your role is a key component of our overall marketing and awareness strategy, working collaboratively with other members of the Marketing & Community Engagement team.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (ideally in a related field such as business or communications).
  • Three to five years of experience in either the personal finance or credit industry.
  • Two to three years of experience in communications, writing, or journalism.
  • Excellent oral and exceptional written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High proficiency in computer office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Good understanding of and interest in multiple social media platforms (e.g., X, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a media relations capacity.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Candidates who can work with both French and English will qualify for a Bilingual Credit, valued at $800 annually and paid on a prorated bi-weekly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marketing & Community Engagement team.
