About The Position

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach undergraduate courses in communicative disorders as needed. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • A Master’s or PhD (i.e. M.A, M.S., AuD, PhD, EdD) degree in Communicative Disorders.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level or at least 5 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
  • Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist or Audiologist with ASHA-CCC and State of California Licensure.
  • Must be available on very short notice.
  • Complete online application with Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae, Copy of unofficial transcripts conferring highest terminal degree, and a list of three (3) references with contact information.
  • Submit an Inclusive Excellence Statement (no more than 500 words).
  • Three letters of recommendation (uploaded confidentially by references once selected as a finalist).
  • Official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to [email protected].
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Disclosure of any final administrative or judicial decision determining commission of sexual harassment within the last 7 years (after meeting minimum qualifications and before offer).
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (for final stage applicants).

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in communicative disorders in subject areas such as Phonetics, Introduction to communicative disorders, Audiology and audiometry, Aural Rehabilitation, Speech/language disorders, Speech/language development, Sign language, Anatomy and physiology, Neurology and neurogenic communicative disorders, Clinical methods and procedures, and Clinical Supervision.
  • Interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
  • Provide clinical supervision (for SLPs).
