About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION SPEECH-LANGUAGE EVALUATOR. This role is part of the Central Committee on Special Education.

Requirements

• New York State permanent teacher certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled.
• New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
• Knowledge of ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State regulations pertaining to Speech-Language Pathology.
• Application knowledge of various Speech Language assessment tools.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations and consultations
• Administering Speech-Language evaluations
• Completing Frontline IEP input
• Writing reports required by the Committee on Special Education
• Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
• Inputting Medicaid billing into the electronic management system
• Attending CSE meetings
• Consultation with other professional disciplines, vendors, parents, and school personnel.
• Any additional assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate
