About The Position

Second Order Controls – a division of ARCO/Murray National Construction – is seeking a highly motivated Cx Project Manager to join our Commissioning team based in Chicago, IL. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred)
5+ years of experience in Mission Critical, Power Infrastructure, or Water Treatment preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with different types of individuals
Strong understanding of engineering principles (HVAC, thermodynamics, heat transfer, process engineering)
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to successfully work on own
Comfortable with spending time on construction jobsite – approximately 50%.
Familiar with construction practices and principles

Nice To Haves

Certification in building commissioning (QCxP, CCP, CxA or similar) is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Perform commissioning on mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems.
Act as the commissioning lead for ARCO’s largest, most complex projects, responsible for all pre-commissioning, functional testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Work directly with ARCO customers and end-users regarding commissioning status, engagement of client operations staff, and facility turnover.
Identify issues, guide troubleshooting/root cause analysis, and ensure final issue resolution through a hands-on approach.
Operate as the bridge between design and construction teams, coordinating system design with installation between clients, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
Create and execute pre-commissioning equipment checklists to maintain state-of-the-art quality system installations.
Create and execute commissioning test scripts that verify correct operation of the installed systems.
Lead project commissioning meetings to set expectations and coordinate schedules for all trades.
Effectively convey information to onsite superintendents and subcontractors using knowledge of the project’s systems.
