About The Position

Nordstrom is hiring a commission sales employee for Kids' Apparel & Shoes at Hillsdale Shopping Center. The role focuses on creating welcoming, helpful shopping experiences for parents, children, and gift shoppers; providing expert sizing and fit guidance; and building lasting customer relationships through personalized follow-up. The employee helps customers find products that suit their needs while meeting personal sales goals and contributing to a positive, productive department.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped merchandise, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard: Say Hello, Small Talk, Be Helpful & Sell, Fashion Authority, and Follow-up.
Build and grow a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools.
Offer honest, confident style and fit feedback to build customer trust and loyalty.
Set and achieve personal sales goals and remain accountable for results.
Keep the department customer-ready through stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, merchandise recovery, and participation in bi-annual inventory counts.
Stay current on product knowledge and trends to serve as a trusted style resource.
Communicate openly, contribute to a positive team environment, and help keep the department productive.
Use the 2-2-2 Method, Nordy Club enrollment, and Personal Book to follow up with customers and build lasting relationships.
Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and peak periods; occasionally support other departments.
