About The Position

The Commercial Tire & Fleet Service Technician will perform truck tire service on all types of highway and often OTR equipment, ranging from Light Truck tires to Commercial Truck tires, and industrial and farm-size tires. This role involves removing, repairing, mounting, and switching tires on various wheel types. The technician will be responsible for completing detailed work orders, including information about the work performed, customer vehicle details, tire sizes, and time spent on the job. They must be able to recognize and explain the necessity of any work to customers or supervisors, ensuring efficient and safe completion of tasks. Adherence to safe driving practices, punctuality, and the use of required safety equipment are essential. Additionally, the technician will maintain the company service vehicle, conduct daily inspections, report tire conditions from service calls, complete waste tire manifests accurately, and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients.

Requirements

  • Perform truck tire service on all types or highway and often OTR equipment from Light Truck tires to Commercial Truck tires to industrial and farm size tires.
  • Remove, repair, mount, switch, tires on a variety of wheel types
  • Complete work orders in detail - Including but not limited to work performed on customer vehicle, location where work was done, truck/unit #, tire sizes and DOT ID, disposition of all tires and time on the job, etc.
  • Be required to recognize and explain the reason for any work that is to be performed on the vehicle to their customer and/or supervisor complete the job in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Apply safe driving practices on a daily basis.
  • Report to work without excessive tardiness or absences.
  • Work with all safety practices and personal protective equipment as required.
  • Maintain company service vehicle in good working order, report mechanical problems immediately.
  • Submit service truck daily maintenance inspections daily.
  • Identify all tires brought in from service calls and report the disposition/conditions of those tires to dispatch office.
  • Correctly complete and submit Waste Tire Manifests in detail.
  • Communicate with dispatch and clients when questions/issues arise on site.
