Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in administrative services/business and/or H.S. Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working with commercial banking processes required.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong knowledge of bank documents, commercial regulation, and bank compliance policies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong client focus (internal and external clients)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Appropriate attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to adapt and manage changing priorities and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and leading a team of Commercial Banking Specialists.
  • Providing support and direction to the Commercial In-Market Support team.
  • Performing the duties of a Commercial Banking Specialist.
  • Utilizing expertise to be a liaison when onboarding/training team members.
  • Educating and advising the team regarding all departmental activities.
  • Monitoring and managing team goals and service level agreements.
  • Managing workflow for the team to ensure service level expectations are met.
  • Serving as an escalation point for team issues and effectively managing escalation.
  • Managing the team to provide a consistent client experience and the implementation of efficient processes.
  • Promoting collaboration with Bank Partners and providing solution-based feedback.
  • Managing the department calendar and providing final approvals for vacation/leave requests.
  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers (RMs) in contacting clients to gather items needed to prepare a complete loan application.
  • Preparing loan requests utilizing required forms or the Commercial Online Application (CML) software.
  • Reviewing and managing open applications in the Loan system for assigned Relationship Managers.
  • Collaborating with Underwriting and Loan Fulfillment teams to obtain any missing client information during the underwriting and pre-closing phase.
  • Coordinating loan closings and attending loan closings to perform Notary services.
  • Submitting closed loan packets to Loan Fulfillment for funding and booking.
  • Utilizing Power BI software to provide assigned RMs with pipeline, portfolio, production, and credit information.
  • Tracking upcoming loan maturities and contacting clients to request financial information.
  • Assisting in clearing past due financials, post-closing exceptions, and trailing documents.
  • Coordinating account opening for assigned RMs and acting as a liaison with Treasury Management, Private Banking, and the Community Banking team.
  • Acting as a point person in resolving client depository issues with Client Care and Treasury Management Services.
  • Conducting research and organizing outreach for business development activities.
  • Assisting and supporting assigned RMs with daily activities including incoming calls from clients, and client mailings.
  • Understanding and complying with all applicable compliance rules and regulations.
