About The Position

The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Development Program (SLP) is a high-profile rotational program designed for recent graduates with sales and marketing experience and a relevant business degree. The program aims to accelerate the development of future leaders within Sales, Channel, and Brand Management. It offers challenging developmental opportunities for early-career associates to kick-start their careers. The program consists of three rotations over two years, providing participants with exposure to Sales Support, Retail Sales, and Commercial & Industrial Sales. These rotations allow associates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's business operations and market strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or other related fields.
  • Recent graduates or early career professionals with less than 2 years of professional experience (including internship/co-op experiences).
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends (8-10 annually).
  • Capable of handling, training on, and demonstrating products, including the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Some additional physical labor will be required including climbing ladders and being on your feet for several hours a day.
  • Demonstrated leadership values & behaviors, and core professional skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, learning agility, and accountability.
  • Ability to analyze Power BI and SalesForce data to develop strategic growth plans to improve financial performance.
  • Goal-oriented and highly driven to provide results that grow, develop, and drive strong quarterly and annual sales results within a specific region or market.
  • Ability to apply strong product and market knowledge to drive sales.
  • Flexible towards change and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals.
  • Highly effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication to partner with customers and SBD team personnel.
  • Demonstrates promotional and event success using creativity and problem solving.
  • Possess an understanding and knowledge of IT Business systems (BW, Salesforce.com, Tool Commerce) and Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to relocate if necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and analytical assistance to the Retail sales team by collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Support account administration, content management, analyzing promotions and program effectiveness, and recommending improvements.
  • Coordinate with marketing and field teams to execute and monitor merchandising initiatives, plan advertising materials, and develop training resources.
  • Maintain product information on retail sites and manage demo tool and inventory systems.
  • Support strategic initiatives to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Work onsite within retail stores to learn operations, gain product knowledge, and drive End User Sales and Engagement.
  • Be responsible for store presentations, recognizing sales and service opportunities, and training store associates.
  • Drive End User Sales and deliver top-line sales goals through daily Job Site Visits.
  • Learn to engage with the professional end user and understand the process of End User Development.
  • Align efforts with local market teams, product managers, local distributors, and service centers.
  • Support the Retail and Commercial & Industrial Sales teams with key projects and initiatives.
  • Execute retail events & new product launches.
  • Flawlessly execute category work plans for all assigned brands and product categories.
  • Achieve weekly and quarterly call cycle goals.
  • Develop relationships within store personnel.
  • Support National Account Managers with initiatives and promotion setups.
  • Update and maintain product information on retailer websites.
  • Support distribution and coordination of Point of Purchase and print materials.
  • Conduct monthly store and territory audits.
  • Support team in large scale events and initiatives in the province.
  • Support Distribution Sales and Promotions and actively work with staff on new ideas to draw attention to our brands.
  • Support Distribution/End User Events including product knowledge sessions to create brand awareness and confidence in the field with End Users.
  • Work with Territory Sales Managers to identify new listing opportunities or instore gaps.
  • Ride along with Industrial Construction Sales Representatives to learn about onsite work.
