About The Position

The Commercial Sales Manager leads commercial banking growth and client relationship development within the assigned market. This role drives portfolio profitability, credit quality and a high-performance sales culture while serving as a visible representative of Sunwest Bank in the local business community.

Requirements

7+ years of lending experience in commercial, consumer and/or mortgage banking.
3+ years of sales management experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of commercial loan structures and risk-mitigation strategies.
Prior supervisory and leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Strong communication, decision-making, organization and results orientation.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the regional strategic and annual business plan in alignment with the Market Area President’s vision and Sunwest Bank priorities.
Lead Relationship Managers to grow and retain targeted commercial relationships while delivering an exceptional client experience.
Expand lending and deposit relationships through direct client engagement, prospect development, community involvement and referral-source partnerships.
Build an accountable, high-performance sales culture through coaching, timely feedback, professional development and recognition.
Recruit and retain top talent while maintaining a strong succession pipeline and appropriate bench strength.
Drive portfolio profitability through disciplined pricing, expense management, risk mitigation and achievement of production goals.
Oversee underwriting priorities, financial reporting, covenant performance and credit compliance for the team’s loan pipeline and existing portfolio.
Partner with Risk Management and leaders across the bank to maintain credit quality, address operational deficiencies and comply with applicable banking regulations.
