About The Position

JB Roofing, a Tecta America commercial roofing company established in 1970, is seeking a Commercial Roofing Foreman at its Akron, Ohio location. The company has more than 80 employees and a management team with over 100 years of experience. The foreman works with existing supervisors and estimators and supervises roofing service and maintenance crews. The role is responsible for training production and maintenance employees and completing assigned jobs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Clean motor vehicle record and successful background check.
• Must not be afraid of heights and must be able to position an extension ladder to access roofs for inspection or survey.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks daily through completion with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to represent the company professionally and promote the organization in a positive and productive manner, serving as an example to others.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Problem identification and resolution skills.
• Ability to multitask and follow through to close tasks in a timely manner.
• Sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Attend training meetings as requested by management.
• Set up jobs and oversee small jobs.
• Communicate with customers and maintain good working relationships when required.
• Use working knowledge of detail drawings and specifications.
• Understand warranty terms and requirements for installing warranty work.
• Develop knowledge of basic associated sheet metal measurements and installation, including drip edge, gravel stop, coping, counter flashings, and terminations.
• Complete jobs and prepare them for inspection.
• Communicate with the Project Manager about needs to expand scope or make design changes or modifications.
