About The Position

General Parts Group is hiring experienced commercial kitchen equipment technicians in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Technicians service and repair restaurant and other commercial foodservice equipment at customer locations, including restaurants, hospitals, schools, and commercial kitchens. The role focuses on commercial refrigeration equipment, commercial cooking equipment, or both. Hourly rates start at $25 and may reach $40 based on experience. Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000. The position includes a company vehicle and steady commercial service work. General Parts Group has operated for more than 80 years and supports a field service force of more than 200 technicians across 26 states. Its technicians service, repair, and maintain cooking, refrigeration, beverage, HVAC, and warewashing equipment. The company encourages technicians to pursue CFESA training certifications and invests in employee training and career growth.

Requirements

Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment.
Valid driver’s license.
EPA certification is required for refrigeration technicians.
Ability to work independently in the field.

Nice To Haves

Experience with both commercial cooking equipment and commercial refrigeration equipment (combo technician).
CFESA training certifications; the company encourages technicians to pursue them.

Responsibilities

Service and repair commercial restaurant and foodservice equipment at customer locations.
Work on commercial refrigeration equipment such as walk-ins, ice machines, and reach-ins, commercial cooking equipment such as fryers, ovens, and grills, or both.
Work independently in the field.
