About The Position

As a Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance Agent, you will be responsible for receiving and making calls to Beneva members to obtain the necessary information to study significant risks. You will analyze them to determine whether to accept, refuse, or modify them. You will also be responsible for updating and analyzing business insurance contract renewals, as well as establishing rates based on the risks to be covered and in accordance with current standards and procedures. Requirements

  • College diploma in insurance and financial services.
  • Valid business insurance agent certificate from the Autorité des marchés financiers.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business insurance.
  • Minimum of 6 courses from the Insurance Institute of Canada's AI or FPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and make phone calls for submissions, issues, service, modifications, cancellations, and renewals in business insurance.
  • Make solicitation calls to prospects from work plans or external lists to obtain due dates and make submissions.
  • Advise clients and affiliated agents on the choice of necessary guarantees and coverages and inform them of the limitations contained in the contracts.
  • Provide affiliated agents with the reasons for accepting or refusing certain requests so that they can respond adequately and provide accurate information to clients.
  • Act as a resource person for affiliated agents, negotiate with them, and participate in certain activities with them.
  • Analyze proposals, proceed with external requests for information, and enter insurance transactions into the computer system.
  • Coordinate appropriate inspections based on risk types and administrative directives.
  • Analyze inspection reports, assess risks, and complete underwriting files to ensure compliance with our standards and according to their level of authority.
  • Choose and issue the required correspondence using letter processing when available.
  • Draft personalized letters for situations requiring special handling.
  • Make autonomous decisions within their personalized authority limit.
  • Act as a consultant for our special clients.
