About The Position

GEICO is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented Commercial Physical Damage Field Adjuster to handle commercial vehicle and specialty physical damage claims, including contractor vehicles, heavy equipment such as semi-trucks, and other specialty claims. The adjuster inspects damage, estimates repair costs, prepares total loss evaluations, negotiates settlements, issues payments, and provides customer service. Work may take place at repair shops, salvage yards, customers’ homes, or in a virtual estimating environment, and includes remote and field work. GEICO provides paid industry training, including two weeks of required hands-on experience at its Ashburn, Virginia training facility. The role uses adjusting tools and technology to assist customers after accidents or major disasters.

Requirements

Two years of experience in Commercial Physical Damage Claims Appraising.
Attain and maintain licenses required by state insurance departments.
Valid driver’s license and compliance with company underwriting guidelines for at least the past three consecutive years.
Ability to maintain applicable state and federal certifications and permits.
Strong computer skills, mechanical aptitude, and multitasking skills.
Effective attention to detail and decision-making skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, and willingness to expand those abilities.
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
