About The Position

The CMV (Non-CDL) Driver provides excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders while operating vehicles with gross motor weight ratings between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds. The role also performs general delivery-driver and warehouse duties and assists customers as needed. The driver unloads, inspects, processes, stocks, picks, labels, cleans, and loads automotive glass and related inventory; follows delivery routes and schedules; processes payments, orders, returns, logs, and other documentation; and safely operates the delivery vehicle. The position may also involve using warehouse equipment, organizing inventory, cleaning warehouse and counter areas, maintaining branch appearance, and performing other assigned tasks. This is a nonexempt position reporting to the Branch Manager. Mygrant Glass describes itself as a wholesale distributor of automotive glass, established in 1926, with a nationwide warehouse network and a focus on customer service and lasting customer partnerships.

Requirements

Comply with applicable state and federal requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers of the applicable gross motor vehicle weight rating, including holding a valid DOT medical card.
Pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
Safely and competently operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pickers.
Have 3–5 years of driving and delivery experience; the posting also lists 2+ years of driving or equivalent experience under education and licensing requirements.
Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Have strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and adaptable to warehouse environments.
Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Work cohesively as part of a team and take direction in changing work conditions.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
DOT medical card.
Meet the physical demands of the position, including handling glass with adequate finger grip strength and exerting the stated levels of force.

Responsibilities

Unload inventory from incoming vehicles.
Inspect inventory and glass for damage; clean glass and assess stock condition.
Process and stock inventory, pick correct products and quantities for orders or transfers, and affix proper labels to glass.
Load racks and trucks with glass.
Follow delivery routes and schedules to deliver products and receive returns on time.
Process and record payments and enter data into the ordering system.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle with a gross motor weight rating of up to 26,000 pounds.
Receive and process returned stock; complete logs and other documentation.
Break down boxes, stock accessories, and organize inventory as directed.
Interact with and assist customers during deliveries and at will call.
Assist with maintaining the branch’s appearance and clean the warehouse and counter area as needed.
Perform other assigned job tasks.
