About The Position

This employee can be headquartered at various Beacon locations in northern Indiana that have available office space. This individual will be working with business members in most of our northern Indiana markets and must be willing to travel periodically to inspect collateral, conduct site visits, attend loan closings, etc. Role Responsible for developing new business, screening, structuring and closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing a commercial loan portfolio. Represent Beacon Credit Union in its market area through active participation in community affairs. Maintains a positive working relationship with members, credit union staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of commercial lending or related work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or sufficient related work experience
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Must be extremely detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and judgment skills
  • Ability to foster sound relationships with outside entities
  • Significant level of trust and diplomacy

Responsibilities

  • Interviews member loan applicants to collect information concerning business needs, earnings, and financial condition.
  • Reviews member's relationship with Beacon Credit Union and explains loan and business services programs to members and evaluates their needs and recommends the appropriate options including cross selling Beacon services.
  • Analyzes current financial position of members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
  • Makes recommendations to approve, disapprove, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
  • Establishes the terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews them with the member.
  • Reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy and works with internal team members in engaging title companies and appraisers, and facilitating closing of loans.
  • Keeps informed of current trends in commercial lending.
  • Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections as needed.
  • Processes requests for release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
