Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist
About The Position
Metis is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist to evaluate, underwrite, and manage new and renewal Commercial Property and Casualty accounts. The role determines pricing, classifications, and coverage based on risk analysis and supporting documentation, and rates and processes policy issuance and servicing transactions. The position is based in Roanoke, Virginia, or Richmond, Virginia. Metis/Risk Management Programs is a Roanoke-owned and operated company that provides third-party administrative services for self-insurance risk pools, operational support, and other solutions for Metis subsidiaries. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Two to five years of commercial lines underwriting, rating, and policy administration experience.
- Working knowledge of commercial Property and Casualty products, underwriting guidelines, ISO manual and forms, and related rating and policy administration systems.
- Must be located in Roanoke, Virginia, or Richmond, Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, underwrite, and manage new and renewal Commercial Property and Casualty accounts.
- Determine pricing, classifications, and coverage based on risk analysis and supporting documentation.
- Rate and process policy issuance and servicing transactions, including quotations, new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, audits, and related policy changes.
