Midwest Region - Commercial Lines Underwriter Trainee - Spring 2027
About The Position
FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a self-motivated Commercial Lines Underwriter Trainee to launch a career in insurance. The trainee will learn to underwrite commercial risks and determine the selection or rejection of new and renewal business. Training covers underwriting judgment, guidelines and procedures, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with agents and insureds in an assigned territory. The extensive training program combines instruction, self-study, and on-the-job shadowing. After successfully mastering the program, the trainee will evaluate new and existing accounts and make underwriting recommendations within limited authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. The position is based at FCCI’s Gulf Coast Regional Office in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Regionally based employees must travel to corporate headquarters periodically for training and may also travel occasionally within their territory. The program starts in June 2027.
