This role requires an individual who is professional and who displays the drive, determination, and self-motivation to lead a team of Account Managers while handling a book of commercial accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years commercial lines insurance experience.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance License preferred; or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Hands on manager who enjoys mentoring.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.
  • Experience with Epic
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • High school or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Direct the services of the department within the accepted principles and practices of the Hub Broker Standards.
  • Supervise and direct department personnel (account managers and processors) including training, motivation, and performance appraisals.
  • Work with Operations Leader and staff to develop performance management and career paths/succession planning.
  • Work in conjunction with the Operations Leader in the hiring or dismissal of personnel within the commercial department.
  • Monitor, balance, and coordinate workloads among department personnel to maintain a well-rounded efficient workforce by thoughtfully assigning accounts and work assignments.
  • Promote account rounding and cross selling.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to department personnel regarding appropriate coverage.
  • Support and mentor SBU Department as related to daily functions between middle market and small business.
  • Oversee, with the assistance of our Quality Control department, the quality control review process to assure the production of quality work and the provision of excellent customer service.
  • Work with producers to maintain synergy with Hub International corporate goals, our carrier requirements, and the needs of our clients.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve.
  • May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers.
  • Pursue professional studies and maintain familiarity with trends in the industry and new insurance products.
  • Improve/refine professional & supervisory skills through continuing education.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with company sales representatives, underwriting and claim representatives.
  • Manage a commercial lines book of business with all of the duties and key responsibilities as per the Commercial Lines Account Manager job description.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Regional Operations Leader.
