About The Position

The Placement Specialist markets property and casualty insurance programs for prospective small- to middle-market accounts, handling both new and renewal business. The role gathers, analyzes, and organizes account data; prepares submissions and applications; negotiates coverage terms; and prepares and presents proposals. The Specialist works with producers, Segment Leaders, carriers, wholesalers, and other team members, and supports accurate, timely placement processes while maintaining required insurance licensing and product knowledge. The position requires an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership. Requirements

At least 3–5 years of relevant Commercial Lines experience.
Property and casualty insurance license.
Experience with a broker or agent, including marketing small- to middle-market accounts to carriers, and excellent knowledge of the markets.
Strong knowledge of basic property and casualty coverages.
Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and accept direction on assignments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and document accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills.
Comfort with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.
Pursuit of a professional designation such as CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, or CPCU preferred.
Experience with Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain timelines and processes for new business and renewal work, including exposure analysis, quote specifications, analysis and negotiation of coverage offers, and preparation and presentation of proposals.
Communicate effectively within the team, including with the producer and Segment Leader.
Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements.
Work with others to prepare property and casualty submissions for new prospects and renewing accounts, including insurance specifications, Acord applications using the agency management system, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules.
Attend prospect and proposal meetings with the producer as needed.
Analyze Excel spreadsheets containing prospect exposure or loss data and develop financial models for loss-sensitive programs when necessary.
Answer prospect and carrier phone calls.
Maintain familiarity and working relationships with insurance companies and wholesalers.
Handle confidential and non-routine information.
Maintain insurance licensing requirements, including continuing education.
Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities to improve job expertise and product knowledge.
Work independently and with a team on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects.
