About The Position

Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Assistant to join its team in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The role works closely with the Commercial Account Manager, Commercial Producers, and Commercial Lines Marketing Representatives to service new and existing accounts and support agency sales goals and service standards.

The assistant develops working knowledge of Commercial Lines procedures, carrier underwriting philosophies and appetites, and available carrier rating systems. The role handles client service requests, assists with insurance exposure analysis and coverage recommendations, reviews carrier-prepared documents for accuracy, supports preparation of marketing and underwriting data, and issues common insurance documents.

Requirements

• At least two years of insurance experience.
• High school degree.
• Completion of, or evidence of skills outlined by, Commercial Management.

Nice To Haves

• 440 or 220 license within one year of employment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop a full working knowledge of Commercial Lines procedures.
• Handle client requests for information, endorsements, cancellations, and other services as required.
• Assist in analyzing insurance exposures and account summaries.
• Assist in recommending coverage or coverage changes based on client needs.
• Use available carrier rating systems provided for Agency use.
• Develop working knowledge of company underwriting philosophies and appetites.
• Review policies, endorsements, audits, and quotations prepared by carriers for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in compiling and preparing marketing and underwriting data, including loss runs, Motor Vehicle Reports, experience modifications, and FCCPCP credits.
• Issue binders, certificates, automobile identification cards, invoices, and similar items.
• Work with the Commercial Account Manager, Commercial Producers, and Commercial Lines Marketing Representatives to service accounts and support Agency sales goals and service standards.
