About The Position

BGIS Integrated Technical Services (BGIS ITS) is hiring a Commercial HVAC Technician to serve Austin, Texas, and surrounding areas. BGIS ITS is a service-oriented company with more than 500 commercial field technicians in the United States and more than 7,000 globally. The company joined the BGIS group in 2022 and emphasizes customer experience, training, and technician support. The technician performs scheduled maintenance, service requests, repairs, equipment changeouts, and installation and service work on commercial HVAC systems, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment. The role is described as performed remotely, with travel or driving to client locations for training, meetings, and other in-person events; the technician also reports to assigned job sites and responds to emergency service requests. A support team includes dispatchers, coordinators, supervisors, and technical resources. Company equipment includes a fully stocked service van, phone, tablet, and required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

At least 3–6 years of HVAC experience, including demonstrated commercial HVAC experience.
EPA certification.
Ability to service and install commercial HVAC systems and ice machines and maintain ice machines and refrigeration equipment.
Willingness to travel or drive to client locations for training, meetings, and other in-person events.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed; some travel is required.
Ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 pounds, lift up to 75 pounds, and maneuver in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics.
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment.
Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements and undergo drug, background, and driver’s license checks.
Ability to work on light commercial equipment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete paperwork and job assignments in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled maintenance, service requests, repairs, and equipment changeouts.
Service and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Service and install ice machines and perform routine maintenance on ice machines and refrigeration equipment.
Assess and troubleshoot commercial HVAC systems to determine required repairs.
Inspect equipment and perform repairs and replacements.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and recommend preventative repairs to avoid unplanned downtime.
Respond to emergency service requests.
Report observations about facilities, mechanical conditions, and deficiencies, and recommend enhancements and repairs.
Participate in and assist with facility-related projects.
Follow established processes and practices, including environmental, health, safety, security, and fire-protection requirements.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
Complete paperwork in a timely manner and report to job assignments on time.
Work with minimal supervision and provide excellent customer service.
