About The Position

Ameritech Facility Services is seeking a full-time, experienced technician/handyman to travel and assist restaurant and retail clients with building repairs. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing construction-related issues, as well as building strong client relationships. Most work is performed during the day on commercial buildings, though some nights and weekends may be required. Regional travel is expected, and out-of-state travel may be necessary; interstate trips may be assigned to any driver. The position requires a personal truck, transportation, tools, and a clean driving record. Specialty tools may be rented when needed.

Requirements

At least 5 years of carpentry experience and commercial construction experience; restaurant experience is preferred.
Basic understanding of electrical, flooring, and plumbing.
Ability to travel regionally 50–75%.
Clean driving record and personal transportation.
Must have a truck.
Must pass a background check.
Own or have access to basic tools, such as drills, saws, hammers, ladders, extension cords, a shop vacuum, and a caulking gun; specialty tools may be rented.
Cell phone and ability to scan, email photos, and use apps on a phone.
Basic computer skills.
Good communication skills.
Willingness to learn additional skills.
Ability to perform heavy lifting, standing, bending, and reaching.

Restaurant commercial construction experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair construction-related issues in commercial buildings.
Perform basic plumbing connections, including sink supply and drain lines.
Perform minor electrical connections, including disconnecting and reconnecting equipment.
Complete repairs involving roofing, concrete, stucco, fencing, asphalt, carpet, and tile.
Use basic tools and follow instructions to install or assemble items.
Handle projects as needed.
Manage time and prioritize work while following special instructions and schedules.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Travel regionally and, when assigned, out of state to service clients.
