About The Position

Mr. C Refrigeration provides installation, emergency repair, and preventative maintenance services for commercial and industrial refrigeration, cold storage, and HVAC equipment. The company is open to experienced service technicians and developing technicians who have a solid foundation and are motivated to learn, accept feedback, and build troubleshooting and repair skills. Candidates whose experience is primarily preventative maintenance may be considered if they are committed to advancing into broader and more complex commercial HVAC/R service work. This hands-on field role involves preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs at customer locations throughout the assigned service area. Responsibilities will grow with demonstrated skills and experience, with team support available as needed. The technician will participate in ongoing training and apply it in the field. Applicants must currently live within approximately 25 miles of Columbus, Ohio. Compensation is $55 per hour, based on experience, with overtime eligibility, commission opportunities, and on-call pay.

Requirements

Must currently live within approximately 25 miles of Columbus, Ohio.
EPA Certification required.
Foundational hands-on HVAC/R knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
Strong desire to develop diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Willingness to ask questions, accept coaching, and apply feedback.
Initiative, dependability, and ownership of work.
Ability to manage assigned tasks and work more independently as skills develop.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the field position, including regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling; lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; climbing ladders and working at elevated heights; and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

Commercial HVAC/R service experience is preferred; candidates with less experience and strong growth potential will be considered.
Technical school HVAC/R training or equivalent field experience is preferred.
Three or more years of commercial HVAC/R service experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment within the technician’s capabilities, with team support as needed.
Develop the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues.
Identify equipment problems and recommend necessary repairs.
Test systems after repairs to confirm proper operation.
Communicate findings and service needs clearly with customers and team members.
Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.
Participate in ongoing training and apply what is learned in the field.
