About The Position

Universal Energy Solutions is hiring motivated individuals to join our Cleveland team as Commercial Energy Consultants. This entry-level position is designed for people who enjoy working with others and want to build a successful career helping local businesses. We provide training, coaching, and mentorship. As a Commercial Energy Consultant, you’ll meet with local business owners to review their electricity and natural gas supply plans, identify opportunities to reduce energy costs, and recommend competitive supplier options. You will focus on developing new customer relationships while learning our proven customer consultation process alongside experienced mentors. As we expand into new markets, we are looking for motivated people to grow with us. Many companies expect experience, but we believe great consultants are developed through training, coaching, and real-world experience. From day one, you’ll work with experienced mentors to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and learn a proven customer consultation process. Opportunities exist to take on larger customer portfolios, build long-term client relationships, and advance into Account Manager and leadership positions. We promote from within and will create leadership opportunities as we expand into more than 20 additional markets.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable meeting with business owners face-to-face

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing role

Responsibilities

  • Meet face-to-face with local business owners and decision-makers.
  • Review current electricity and natural gas supply plans.
  • Help businesses identify opportunities to reduce their energy costs.
  • Recommend competitive energy supplier options based on each customer’s needs.
  • Build relationships with prospective commercial customers.
  • Learn our proven customer consultation process alongside experienced mentors.
  • Travel throughout an assigned territory (typically within a 30-mile radius of the office).
  • Build the skills needed to take on larger customer portfolios and advance your career.
