About The Position

The GE Vernova Commercial Development Program (CDP) is a two-year program designed to develop domain expertise in Commercial teams through stimulating rotational assignments and a rigorous training curriculum. CDP members prepare for future commercial roles by learning about GE Vernova’s markets, products, and customers, while contributing to the business. The program includes four 6-month rotations within participating businesses such as Gas Power, Wind, Nuclear, or Grid Solutions. Assignments focus on commercial operations, pricing, marketing, product sales, or other sales support functions, connecting customer needs with GE Vernova solutions. Program members also engage in small projects and committees outside of their rotations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant science degree.
  • Prior intern/co-op or relevant work experience, preferably in sales, sales support, or marketing in the energy industry (cap of 2 years work experience post university graduation).
  • Strong demonstrated interest in the energy industry.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel for business.
  • Geographic flexibility for rotation outside core site, if necessary.
  • Legal authorization to work in US.
  • Must not require sponsorship for employment visas, now or in the future.

  • Gas Power: Engineering majors or business majors with demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Grid Solutions: Electrical, Mechatronics, Power Systems, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Wind: Engineering majors or business majors with demonstrated technical aptitude.

  • Academic excellence: minimum 3.0 cumulative overall GPA out of 4.0 (without rounding).
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete four 6-month rotational assignments within commercial functions and other areas of an assigned business.
  • Support market analysis, sales strategy, proposals, pricing, customer engagement, and business growth initiatives.
  • Participate in or lead various small projects, committees, and other activities.
  • Develop overall business growth strategy, including market analysis, market opportunities identification, and execution of the sales growth plan.
  • Define sales strategy for targeted clients and analyze core markets.
  • Develop and compile proposals to meet customer and sales team requirements.
  • Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk with the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process.
  • Build and present Risk & Opportunities analysis and associated risk mitigation plans.
  • Support customer negotiations to ensure deals deliver shareholder value.
  • Participate in or deliver customer presentations.
  • Receive formal mentoring and coaching by senior management.
