About The Position

Construction One, a family-owned General Contractor with 45 years in business, is seeking experienced commercial traveling superintendents. Your home base can be anywhere in the United States, and you will travel to projects across the US, as we are licensed in all 50 states. We are looking for superintendents experienced in building ground-up commercial construction projects such as gas stations, restaurants, banks, daycares, and retail stores. The Superintendent will be responsible for the onsite coordination and management of all site construction activities, supervising field personnel to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and exceed customer expectations. This includes maintaining the highest quality while administering good construction safety practices.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of dependability and reliability.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in both union and non-union environments.
  • Experience and comfort with technology and software programs related to the construction industry.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: ground-up construction, renovations, retail chains, flagship or restaurants.
  • Must be willing and able to travel anywhere in the country at any time.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-hour training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with plans, specifications, site, local codes, local officials, and inspection procedures.
  • Set up field office, communications, temporary services, and trash removal as required.
  • Assist Project Manager in developing the project schedule.
  • Schedule all subcontractors and deliveries as needed to meet the project schedule.
  • Schedule and attend all required inspections.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork as required.
  • Establish and maintain benchmarks and reference points for ongoing layout of work.
  • Work with owner, owner’s rep, architect, and subcontractors to resolve any conflicts that may arise and communicate any such conflicts immediately to Project Manager.
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce company safety policy as it pertains to the assigned project.
  • Attend job meetings and/or any other meetings that may be required for the successful and timely completion of the project.
  • Attend walk-through at job completion to ascertain punch list.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings at jobsite.
  • Execute punch list in a timely manner and obtain all necessary signed acknowledgments.
  • Close out field office and project as necessary.
  • Obtain OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required.
  • Travel to the home office as needed for training, meetings, etc.
  • Communicate proactively and often with all parties involved in the project.
  • Other duties as assigned / needed.
