About The Position
As a CBRE Government and Defense Services Commercial Cleaner/Day Porter, you will perform basic cleaning duties and maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas. The role provides daily cleaning support to designated high-traffic areas and follows standardized company cleaning processes, established work routines, and procedures. The position involves occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals, and requires physically demanding work. The minimum pay rate is $17.00. The position may be eligible for competitive benefits, including medical, well-being, financial planning, and short-term incentive benefits. Pre-employment substance abuse testing is performed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 2 years of job-related experience.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow established work routines and procedures.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
- Reliable and dependable, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial work, or a similar field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in maintenance, safety, or facilities operations are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic building areas designated by the supervisor.
- Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap.
- Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other assigned areas.
- Dust furniture, walls, and equipment, including moving and rearranging furniture.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Keep cleaning supplies in a safe, secure area.
- Complete the standardized cleaning process according to company standards.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- Attend regular staff meetings and required in-service training sessions.
- Follow basic work routines and standards.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems, with limited discretion.
