About The Position

Marksman Security is seeking a Command Center Supervisor to oversee the continuous operation, integrity, and performance of all life safety and security systems across a 50-acre mixed-use development. This role ensures robust control room operations, leads a team of 6 command center specialists, and provides dispatch directions to over 40 security personnel. The SCC Supervisor acts as the operational nexus between technology, people, and emergency response functions, requiring technical expertise, leadership capability, and exceptional judgment. Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in security operations, dispatch centers, or life safety technology environments.
  • 2+ years in supervisory roles or team lead capacity.
  • Experience in mixed-use, corporate, campus, aviation, stadium, or municipal environments.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise access control platforms (Avigilon or equivalent).
  • Proficient with VMS platforms (Verkada, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm panel operations (Notifier, EST, Siemens, Simplex, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with elevator control systems.
  • High integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Bias toward action while maintaining disciplined procedures.
  • Comfort with both structure and rapid change.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning, especially with technology and AI.
  • Diplomacy — able to communicate firmly without creating friction.
  • Ownership mentality — treats the site as if it were their own.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the continuous operation, integrity, and performance of all life safety and security systems.
  • Ensure robust control room operations.
  • Lead a team of 6 command center specialists.
  • Provide dispatch directions to 40+ security personnel across the property.
  • Administer credentials, troubleshoot controllers, interpret logs, and maintain door schedules and alarms for access control systems.
  • Understand system integration with elevators, fire panels, intrusion systems, and visitor management.
  • Configure cameras, monitor analytics triggers, pull evidence, and support investigations using VMS platforms.
  • Understand video retention compliance requirements.
  • Interpret fire alarm conditions, communicate with Fire Command, and guide emergency response sequences.
  • Coordinate testing, drills, and impairment procedures for fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Manage elevator recall, overrides, fire service modes, and integration with access control.
  • Coordinate with facilities/OT teams for elevator malfunctions or entrapments.
  • Maintain accountability for radios, keys, equipment, PPE, and special-event materials.
  • Use software systems to track, audit, and document asset lifecycle.
  • Leverage AI tools for summarizing incidents, identifying operational trends, enhancing training documentation, optimizing scheduling, and improving dispatch workflows.
  • Demonstrate mastery in multi-channel dispatching (radio, phone, digital platforms).
  • Apply ICS principles, prioritize threats, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and property management partners.
  • Provide direct supervision of 6 control room operators across all shifts.
  • Provide indirect operational direction of 40+ patrol and field personnel.
  • Rotate across days, nights, weekends, and special events for visibility and coaching.
  • Conduct structured training on technology, procedures, and customer service.
  • Provide corrective feedback with professionalism and tact.
  • Regularly audit reports, logs, CCTV activity, and dispatch quality.
  • Review CCTV, access logs, and officer statements for incident investigation.
  • Prepare comprehensive, defensible reports.
  • Brief leadership succinctly and professionally.
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and concisely, especially under pressure.
  • Write polished shift summaries, incident reports, and after-action reviews.
  • Brief executives, law enforcement, and cross-functional partners.
  • Quickly identify anomalies or potential threats and prioritize critical notifications.
  • Escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate logs, system entries, schedules, and documentation.
  • Keep the command center clean, controlled, and audit-ready.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, event risks, and seasonal changes in threat profile.
  • Create structured plans for events, activations, VIP visits, and emergency drills.
  • Make sound decisions during alarms, emergencies, system faults, or high-stress events.
  • Demonstrate resilience and reliability in chaotic environments.
