About The Position

The Security Command Center Officer oversees the continuous operation, integrity, and performance of all life safety and security systems across a 50‑acre mixed‑use development. This officer helps ensure robust control room operations, and provides dispatch directions to 40+ security personnel across the property. The SCC Officer serves as the operational nexus between technology, people, and emergency response functions — requiring technical expertise, leadership capability, and exceptional judgment.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of enterprise access control platforms (Avigilon or equivalent).
  • Proficient with VMS platforms (Verkada, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm panel operations (Notifier, EST, Siemens, Simplex, or equivalent).
  • Familiar with elevator recall, overrides, fire service modes, and integration with access control.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools.
  • Mastery in multi-channel dispatching (radio, phone, digital platforms).
  • Applies ICS principles.
  • Skilled at reviewing CCTV, access logs, and officer statements.
  • Clear, calm, and concise communication style — especially under pressure.
  • Experienced in writing polished shifts summaries, incident reports, and after‑action reviews.
  • High Situational Awareness.
  • Organized & Detail‑Oriented.

  • 4+ years experience in security operations, dispatch centers, or life safety technology environments.
  • Experience in mixed‑use, corporate, campus, aviation, stadium, or municipal environments.

  • Comfort with both structure and rapid change.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the continuous operation, integrity, and performance of all life safety and security systems.
  • Ensures robust control room operations.
  • Provides dispatch directions to 40+ security personnel.
  • Administers credentials, troubleshoots controllers, interprets logs, and maintains door schedules and alarms for access control systems.
  • Understands system integration with elevators, fire panels, intrusion systems, and visitor management.
  • Configures cameras, monitors analytics triggers, pulls evidence, and supports investigations for CCTV/VMS platforms.
  • Understands video retention compliance requirements.
  • Interprets fire alarm conditions, communicates with Fire Command, and guides emergency response sequences.
  • Coordinates testing, drills, and impairment procedures for fire alarm systems.
  • Coordinates with facilities/OT teams for elevator malfunctions or entrapments.
  • Maintains accountability for radios, keys, equipment, PPE, and special‑event materials.
  • Uses software systems to track, audit, and document asset lifecycle.
  • Leverages AI tools for summarizing incidents, identifying operational trends, enhancing training documentation, optimizing scheduling, and improving dispatch workflows.
  • Demonstrates mastery in multi-channel dispatching (radio, phone, digital platforms).
  • Applies ICS principles, prioritizes threats, and allocates resources effectively.
  • Coordinates with police, fire, EMS, and property management partners.
  • Reviews CCTV, access logs, and officer statements for incident investigation.
  • Prepares comprehensive, defensible reports.
  • Briefs leadership succinctly and professionally.
  • Communicates clearly, calmly, and concisely, especially under pressure.
  • Writes polished shifts summaries, incident reports, and after‑action reviews.
  • Briefs executives, law enforcement, and cross-functional partners.
  • Quickly identifies anomalies or potential threats.
  • Prioritizes critical notifications and escalates appropriately.
  • Maintains accurate logs, system entries, schedules, and documentation.
  • Keeps the command center clean, controlled, and audit‑ready at all times.
  • Makes sound decisions during alarms, emergencies, system faults, or high‑stress events.
