About The Position

The Combo Sewer constructs complete upholstery covers by operating industrial sewing equipment and assembling a variety of upholstered furniture components. The role requires advanced sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet quality and production standards. Products include furniture covers, seat and back cushions, ottomans, decorative pillows, and specialty upholstered components.

This is a full-time position in the Sewing Department at Plant 3 – Fabric Department, in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional Friday hours from 6:00 AM–10:00 AM. The position is listed as 40–45 hours per week, with no Saturday work. Overtime may be required based on production demands and may vary weekly.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Combo Sewing experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstery production.
• Experience operating industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to sew both flatwork and cushion components.
• Strong understanding of upholstery construction techniques.
• Ability to read production tickets, specifications, and work instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Industrial sewing, upholstery sewing, and furniture manufacturing skills.
• Pattern matching and fabric handling skills.
• Quality inspection and production manufacturing skills.
• Time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble upholstered furniture components.
• Sew complete furniture covers, cushions, pillows, ottomans, and other upholstery pieces.
• Read and interpret work orders, production tickets, specifications, and sewing instructions.
• Match fabric patterns and maintain proper fabric alignment.
• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain production goals while producing high-quality workmanship.
• Identify and communicate quality or production concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
