About The Position

Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar deliver quality hair-color services and excellent guest care. They help guests find the color best suited to them and execute services to high standards, while providing expertise on Madison Reed consultations, products, blowout services, and unlimited roots memberships. The role also involves connecting with guests and team members to support a focused, friendly work environment; responding to a busy day by understanding targets and planning to meet them; maintaining a clean, organized environment; and building supportive relationships with colleagues.

The position reports to the Manager. It may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs, and requires availability during peak times. Compensation consists of base hourly pay, commissions, and tips. Potential earnings for this location are $28.50–$30.50 per hour; actual compensation depends on factors including Hair Color Bar performance, tenure, and time behind the chair.

Requirements

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• At least 1 year of experience as a colorist behind the chair in a salon environment.
• Effective communication, strong problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfort operating point-of-sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with the company values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
• Provide consultations and menu services, including shampooing and conditioning, blow drying, flat ironing, curling, and chemical services, to high quality standards and guest satisfaction.
• Attend to guest needs and help select appropriate products and color while remaining flexible to business needs and on time for bookings.
• Contribute to monthly sales goals and key performance indicators, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
• Maintain company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security of company assets.
• Follow protocols for Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Increase Hair Color Bar revenue by growing average service tickets through additional services, unlimited roots memberships, subscriptions, and home hair care products.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay current on Madison Reed products and service offerings.
• Support Assistant Colorists’ training and development through demonstration, coaching, and care.
