About The Position

The Color Technician works in a wallcovering manufacturing business on the third shift, Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with potential overtime. The position begins at $20 per hour. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and may have the opportunity to increase their rate to $22 per hour. The position also qualifies for a $1-per-hour shift differential. The role focuses on color matching and prematching to company standards to achieve accurate, repeatable color. It also involves maintaining dispensers, X-Rite equipment, standards, and other tools to support productivity, reduce waste, and enable ink reuse.

Requirements

Excellent attendance.
Good math, language, and reading skills.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of how to use a weight scale.
High attention to detail when following specifications and standards.
Ability to complete assignments accurately, safely, and on time.
Ability to pass a color test with a score of 85% or higher and make accurate color adjustments.
Ability to pass the physical, drug test, and background check that are part of the pre-hire process.

Responsibilities

Communicate with supervisors, printer operators, quality control staff, and other color technicians.
Check machine schedules to determine color-matching and prematching needs.
Read schedules to determine ink usage and type.
Visually assess color and add pigment to inks to match company standards in a timely manner.
Manage ink by collecting it from machines after use and separating it for reuse or disposal.
Use X-Rite equipment and software to maintain standard ink recipes for repeatability.
Follow each machine's specific JSAs for safety while color matching.
Maintain the dispenser, X-Rite equipment, standards, and other essential tools.
