About The Position

The Color Lab Stain Tech Blender mixes stains, wash coats, toners, and paints for in-house customers and keeps up with requests for custom-mixed products. The role requires multitasking, organization, attention to color, and communication. Daily work includes managing product usage and can disposal, checking vendor deliveries and stocking shelves, creating blend boards and stains for orders or shop use, recording formulas, obtaining customer sign-off, arranging shipments through Spee-Dee or UPS, assisting where needed, and maintaining quality standards.

The work takes place in a pre-finish color lab, computer lab, and shop floor. Required PPE includes safety glasses, rubber gloves, and respirators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or higher.
• Good eye for color.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• 2–3 years of experience in the pre-finish industry.

Responsibilities

• Tint and mix UV stains.
• Tint and mix custom solvent-based stains.
• Tint and mix wash coats.
• Tint and mix toners.
• Tint and mix paints for the exterior door line.
• Stage products for production.
• Fill and clean tint dispensers.
• Clean mixers and mixing tables.
• Track product usage and crush cans as needed.
• Dispose of rags and supplies.
• Return blend boards to the library as needed.
• Keep the Color Lab/Library area clean.
• Assist with disposal of outdated products.
• Manage product usage and can disposal.
• Check vendor deliveries and stock shelves.
• Create blend boards and stains for orders or shop use.
• Record formulas and obtain customer sign-off.
• Arrange shipments to customers through Spee-Dee or UPS.
• Assist where needed and maintain quality standards.
