Collision Center Mechanic
About The Position
Bluebonnet Collision Center is looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanical Technician to join their collision repair team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues that arise from collision damage, including suspension, steering, brakes, and drivetrain repairs. The technician will also be responsible for removing and installing various mechanical components, performing A/C system repairs, and diagnosing electrical and mechanical concerns. A key part of the job is ensuring all mechanical repairs adhere to manufacturer procedures, conducting pre- and post-repair inspections, and assisting with vehicle teardown and reassembly when mechanical parts are involved. The position also requires performing alignments, vehicle scans, and identifying any additional mechanical damage to communicate to the production team. Maintaining a clean and safe work area, completing repairs efficiently, and upholding high-quality standards are essential.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an automotive mechanical technician
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working on late-model vehicles
- Ability to read and follow OEM repair procedures
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
- Own basic hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues resulting from collision damage
- Perform suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain repairs
- Remove and install engines, transmissions, radiators, cooling system components, and other mechanical parts
- Perform A/C system repairs and related procedures
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical concerns
- Perform pre- and post-repair inspections
- Complete mechanical repairs according to manufacturer repair procedures
- Perform alignments and suspension adjustments when applicable
- Assist with vehicle teardown and reassembly when mechanical components are involved
- Perform scans and assist with diagnostics as required
- Identify additional mechanical damage and communicate findings to the estimator or production team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
