About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a College Work Study Student for the Henderson Testing Center for the Fall 2026 semester. This position involves administering and proctoring various exams, assisting with front desk duties, maintaining records, and using specific systems for student tracking and appointments. The role supports CSN students and staff and is beneficial for students pursuing degrees or certificates in Communication, Hospitality Management, and Hotel Management.

Requirements

  • Must have completed this year's FAFSA.
  • Must have accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and support CSN's diverse and multicultural community.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated dependability, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Friendly, outgoing, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must have a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar.
  • Must meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year.
  • Must show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
  • Cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.

  • Proof of Student Employment Award attached (copy of latest CSN Award Notification or screenshot of accepted award).

Responsibilities

  • Administer, give instructions, and set up various exams.
  • Proctor (monitor) students during exams.
  • Assist the front desk by greeting and welcoming students, instructors, and guests.
  • Maintain logbooks and files associated with testing.
  • Access and use the Greymatter system and RegisterBlast for student tracking and appointments.
  • Answer questions in person and over the phone regarding testing center services and other CSN department information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned for opening and closing procedures.
