About The Position

RK&K is hiring a paid College Intern to join its Construction Management and Construction Inspection Division. The internship provides on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to consulting construction management and construction inspection, including materials, testing, construction contract management, and client interface. Interns will encounter challenges, projects, and technology related to their discipline. The role supports construction projects involving roadway and bridge structures, including inspection, materials tracking and testing, contract management, field engineering, and project coordination. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, Environmental Science, or a related area.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assist with inspection and monitoring of roadway and bridge structures to help ensure compliance with contract documents and safety regulations.
Assist with materials tracking and testing to ensure required compliance.
Provide contract management support for construction projects.
Assist with quantity calculations, as-built sketches, constructability reviews, project control and pre-operation meetings, and issue tracking.
Engage in problem-solving to provide technical evaluations and sound solutions.
Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment.
