About The Position

RK&K is hiring a College Intern for its Construction Management and Construction Inspection Division. The position is based in Fairfax, D.C., or Baltimore. Interns receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to consulting construction management and construction inspection, including materials testing, construction contract management, and client interface. They will encounter projects, challenges, and technology related to their discipline.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Environmental Science, or a related area.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

• Applicable prior internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Support construction management, including assisting with roadway and bridge structure inspections and monitoring for compliance with contract documents and safety regulations.
• Assist with materials tracking and testing to ensure required compliance.
• Provide contract management support for construction projects.
• Assist with quantity calculations, as-built sketches, constructability reviews, project control and pre-operation meetings, and issue tracking.
• Engage in problem-solving and provide technical evaluations and sound solutions.
• Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment.
