About The Position
RK&K is hiring a College Intern for its Construction Management and Construction Inspection Division. The paid internship provides on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to consulting construction management and inspection, including materials, testing, construction contract management, and client interface. Interns work with challenges, projects, and technology related to their discipline.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, Environmental Science, or a related area.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Participation in professional societies.
- Applicable prior internship experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with construction management, including inspecting and monitoring roadway and bridge structures for compliance with contract documents and safety regulations.
- Assist with materials tracking and testing to ensure required compliance.
- Provide contract management support for construction projects.
- Assist with quantity calculations, as-built sketches, constructability reviews, project control meetings, pre-operation meetings, and issue tracking.
- Engage in problem-solving and provide technical evaluations and sound solutions.
- Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
