About The Position

This position offers an hourly rate of $18 and will be on-site in Chico, CA. We are seeking a technically inclined IT Operations & Infrastructure intern to support day-to-day IT operations within a corporate enterprise environment. The selected candidate will work directly within the IT department, contributing to Service Desk Operations, Systems documentation, Application development, and Asset lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of: Windows 10/11 operating environments, Active Directory fundamentals, Microsoft 365 application suite, SharePoint
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot technical issues using logical diagnostic methodologies.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power Apps, or willingness to develop proficiency rapidly.
  • Understanding of basic ITIL concepts such as incident management, service requests, and escalation workflows is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with ITSM or ticketing platforms, such as ServiceNow
  • Exposure to IT asset management tools and inventory auditing processes.
  • CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certification (obtained or in progress).
  • Experience building or configuring applications within the Microsoft Power Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound Tier 1 support requests via phone queue, performing initial triage, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, software, network connectivity, and account-related issues within defined SLA parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose PC issues including OS errors, peripheral failures, application conflicts, and performance degradation; escalate unresolved incidents to Tier 2 per established escalation procedures.
  • Provide on-site and remote end-user assistance, guiding users through technical issues and maintaining accurate ticket documentation in the IT service management (ITSM) system.
  • Research, draft, and publish Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for repeatable IT processes, following established formatting and knowledge base standards.
  • Migrate and rebuild existing web-based forms into Microsoft Power Apps, configuring data connections, form logic, and workflows within the Power Platform environment.
  • Perform regular audits and updates of hardware and software records in the IT asset management (ITAM) system, ensuring accurate tracking of device status, assignments, and lifecycle stage.
