About The Position

Ivy Tech is seeking a College Connection Coach to serve students in Vanderburgh County schools. The role focuses on building relationships with high school students and encouraging and assisting them with college enrollment and persistence toward degree completion. The Coach plans and implements outreach services and dual credit opportunities, provides college and career support, and coordinates dual credit opportunities with Academic Affairs. The Coach also supports students pursuing employment or a four-year degree after completing a Technical Certificate or Associate Degree.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
2–4 years of related experience in advising, career counseling, recruiting, or another student-service-related job.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Ability to initiate and balance multiple work projects.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Flexibility to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

Experience in K–12 or college-level settings.
Training or teaching experience with young adults.

Responsibilities

Recruit college-bound high school juniors, seniors, and graduates.
Provide one-on-one coaching on college attainment and career exploration, complementing services offered by schools, colleges, and community organizations.
Use community resources to support students' access to and success in college.
Develop and facilitate scheduled small-group check-ins and workshops during the academic year, including sessions on program-specific topics, financial aid, ACT and SAT information, and ACCUPLACER information.
Enroll students in dual credit courses and enter SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and related student information.
Coordinate dual credit opportunities with Academic Affairs.
Provide support for employer partnerships as needed.
Coach students through transitions from high school to college and from college to work.
Implement career workshops and experiential learning opportunities, which may include on-campus activities, tours, and industry visits.
Develop and deliver an annual orientation for new participants and a summer series of college-preparation and team-building workshops.
Maintain accurate student records, contact information, academic progress, required information, and case notes for each student in the coaching cohort.
Prepare required reports.
Participate in outcome tracking, service evaluation, and program development with the postsecondary team and EVSC.
Stay current on Ivy Tech programs and admission and registration processes, career and higher education trends, and Indiana Department of Education requirements.
Attend Ivy Tech meetings, training sessions, and other activities as necessary.
