About The Position

Renton Technical College is seeking a Navigator to support the College & Career Pathways (CCP) Division. The College & Career Pathways Navigator will maintain a comprehensive understanding CCP program offerings and connect students with the pathway that best aligns with their educational goals. This includes serving as an advocate for CCP students, including those enrolled in ESL, GED, HS+, Bilingual HS+, and students who are undecided. In partnership with Student Services, the primary function of this role is to support students through intake, enrollment, and onboarding processes. The CCP Navigator will develop expertise in enrollment processes while providing timely guidance and support to students throughout their educational journey. The College & Career Pathways Navigator is represented by the Renton Professional Technical Association (Prof-Tech) union. This is a full-time, classified, and overtime eligible position reporting to the Dean of College & Career Pathways and the Associate Dean of ELA, I-BEST, & Bridge Program. The pay range for this role is $67,572.37 - $86,932.28 annually. Salary placement is based on applicable experience. New hires may not be placed above step 10 ($82,902.86). Additional information can be found on our benefits page and in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This role is grant funded through June 30, 2027 and is contingent upon sustained grant funding. The priority consideration date for this position is August 23, 2026. Requirements

Experience with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
Two or more years of professional experience in an adult education program such as HS+, GED, ABE, ELL, LEP.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education or a related field from an accredited institution OR a combination of education and/or work experience in education or social services setting mentoring, coaching, counseling, or advising.
Demonstrated experience working with students who have unique barriers and assisting these students with their educational goals.
Proficient with student information systems, virtual learning/advising platforms, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new technologies.
Ability to work effectively and engage with adult learners, including individuals whose first language is not English.
Previous experience working with students who are learning English or aiming to complete their high school credentials.
Exceptional customer services skills with the ability to place a high priority on professional excellence.
Demonstrated experience in interpreting, reviewing and applying program specific policies, procedures and regulations.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to promote universal design and accessibility.
Proficiency in (or ability to learn within 6 months of hire) the production of accessible content, whether print or electronic.
Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion and courtesy.
The person hired is required to provide authorization for employment in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with BEdA programs and systems, including LACES/formally WABERS and CASAS (administration, scoring, and integration with program requirements) is preferred.
Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is strongly preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese)

Responsibilities

Onboard and guide all students enrolled in College and Career Pathways (CCP) programs (ESL, GED, HS+, Bilingual HS+, etc).
Respond to inquiries utilizing multiple means of communication (i.e. text, email, phone call).
Contact and meet with prospective, new and returning students to answer questions and provides information about enrollment requirements for transitional studies students.
Monitor class enrollment to organize intake sessions as needed when there is space in classes.
Assist students in completing admissions application and intake forms.
Monitor and follows-up with student pipeline from inquiry to first quarter of enrollment.
In collaboration with CCP and entry team, build and carry out intake and orientation sessions for new CCP students.
Advises prospective students and families including traditional and non-traditional students about the admissions and enrollment process.
Adhere to the institution’s interpretation of FERPA rules for the release of student information to faculty, parents, students, etc.
Makes referrals to appropriate resources necessary for student success.
Collaborate with faculty to maintain effective services to aid students
Participates in college committees, community engagement, and outreach events as needed.
Support the college's mission by creating a learning and work environment of mutual respect and fairness, while encouraging creative and critical thinking.
Contribute to the appreciation of diversity and foster a climate of multicultural understanding.
Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments and outside agencies.
Perform other related projects and assignments as assigned.
