Visit our website at nyc.gov/dcas to learn more about the work we do. DCAS' Human Resources is seeking a highly motivated individuals for our College Aide role. The Human Resources handles a large volume and scope of matters directly related to employees’ personal and professional affairs. Our goal is to ensure our commitment to providing exceptional customer service times of transition and changing priorities. To help achieve this, we are looking to develop and maintain an internal knowledge base. The College Aide will assist HR in documenting current standard operating procedures in efforts to develop a well-organized Human Resources guide which will serve as a reference for various internal HR functions. Ultimately, this role will help strengthen current operations and enhance the training and development for new members to the team. In addition to this, the College Aides will work with the teams within the Administration Line of Service to improve operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.

Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.

Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting information to write, distribute, store & maintain standard procedures.
  • Documenting hiring procedures for special titles, including Job Training Participants, Stationary Engineers, Special Officers, Original Jurisdiction titles, as well as for transfers from non-mayoral agencies and hires for the Mayor’s Office.
  • Cross reference existing Job Aids in NYC CityShare with internal HR written materials and resources.
  • Assist with documenting personnel scenarios and resolutions
  • Tracking and maintaining change control documentation.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of internal administrative tracking systems for quality assurance purposes.
  • Assist with special projects and archiving as needed.
