About The Position

As the Collections Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of Loan Adjusters, creating an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. You will provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance feedback while ensuring your team has the resources, knowledge, and guidance needed to deliver exceptional service and achieve departmental goals. In addition to leading the team, you will serve as a subject matter expert by managing complex and escalated delinquent accounts, helping members and identifying solutions that protect their financial well-being while minimizing risk to the credit union. You will work closely with department leadership, branch staff, and internal business partners to ensure consistent practices, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys developing others, solving complex challenges, and making a meaningful impact on both team success and member outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience in collections, loan servicing, or a related financial services environment
  • A valid driver's license

  • Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred
  • A bachelor's degree may be considered in place of related work experience
  • Effective leader with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of Loan Adjusters through ongoing coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Monitoring team productivity, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive, high-performing work environment.
  • Serving as the escalation point for complex member accounts and making recommendations regarding repayment options, repossessions, foreclosures, legal action, and charge-offs.
  • Collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve processes, support departmental initiatives, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Preparing reports, attending legal proceedings when necessary, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
