About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to join a collaborative finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigative work, problem-solving, and building relationships—without the high-volume call environment typical of collections roles. You’ll play a key role in managing accounts receivable processes, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate billing while working closely with both internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

1+ year of experience in collections, billing, or accounts receivable
Basic Excel skills (sorting, simple formulas; advanced functions can be taught)
High school diploma or GED

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and organization
Ability to manage a high volume of emails (up to 100/day) with timely follow-up
Comfortable learning new systems (ERP tools, internal portals)
Effective communicator across teams and with external contacts

Responsibilities

Research and resolve billing discrepancies and past-due balances
Communicate with clients and internal departments via email (high volume) and occasional phone calls (less than 5 per day)
Review and reconcile accounts, including transferring funds between accounts when needed
Generate and distribute invoices, account statements, and delinquency notices
Maintain accurate records and documentation of account activity
Provide reporting on aged receivables and account status
Collaborate across departments to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Contribute to process improvements and special projects
