About The Position

American Disposal has an immediate opening for a Collections Representative based in Manassas, VA. The role involves contacting delinquent accounts by phone and email, taking customer payments over the phone, setting up payment arrangements, and resolving service- or billing-related problems. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position with hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay is $23–$25 per hour, with competitive pay and excellent benefits.

Requirements

A minimum of 1 year of credit and collections experience is highly preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience making heavy outbound collections calls is highly preferred.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Make outbound calls and send emails daily regarding delinquent accounts.
Manage automated calls and emails.
Work with various departments to reach monthly collection goals.
Handle difficult customers and escalated calls.
Work with the Credit Supervisor in utilizing the third-party collection agency.
Maintain accurate notes in customer accounts.
Provide assistance with online payments.
Provide customers with account recaps for billing disputes.
Report results to management and escalate problem accounts.
Take customer payments over the phone, set up payment arrangements, and help resolve service or billing problems.
