About The Position

GLS is dedicated to helping more individuals access affordable auto financing through advanced analytics and technology. For over 10 years, we have supported more than a million families, providing them with reliable transportation options in their daily lives. This role involves managing a portfolio of auto loan accounts to reduce delinquency by contacting customers to understand their intent and ability to pay. The Collections Coordinator will maintain positive relationships while collecting on past-due balances, negotiating solutions that work for both customers and GLS, and adhering to state and company guidelines in a fast-paced environment. Accurate documentation of all contacts, outcomes, and follow-up in GLS systems is crucial, as is meeting or exceeding assigned goals and business plan objectives. The role also includes maintaining electronic records and supporting additional assignments or special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: friendly, tactful, empathetic, and able to influence and manage conflict.
  • Strong judgment and discretion with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Active listening skills; comfortable probing and asking targeted questions to gather information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
  • Team player who can adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills with internet and standard business tools (Microsoft Office); quick to learn new systems.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of auto loan accounts and reduce delinquency.
  • Contact customers to understand intent and ability to pay.

  • Negotiate solutions that work for customers and GLS (immediate payments and/or promises to pay with clear dates and amounts).
  • Follow state and company guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintain electronic records and support additional assignments or special projects as needed.
