About The Position

The Collections Associate II is responsible for collecting and recovering delinquent consumer, residential mortgage, credit card, and commercial loan accounts. The role works directly with customers to identify repayment solutions, monitors delinquent portfolios, and helps reduce loan losses while maintaining positive customer relationships.

The position is based at the Monroe Operations location in Monroe, Louisiana, though the location may be flexible depending on the applicant’s location and office availability within the Planters Bank system. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience handling delinquent consumer or commercial loan accounts.
• Strong understanding of loan servicing and collections practices, including consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending products.
• Ability to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve customer concerns.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collection management software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Satisfactory background and credit bureau report.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• At least three years of collections, loan servicing, banking, or related financial services experience.
• Experience within a financial institution or community bank.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy, foreclosure, and repossession processes.
• Bilingual communication skills.
